Quality Assurance System to produce delicious tea

At KYOEISEICHA we have a total commitment to the maintenance of constantly up to date and state of the art quality control systems

The information below details the stadards and methods employed by the KYOEISEICHA Quality Control Department
In order to guarantee the quality and safety of all products, KYOEISEICHA maintains a strict quality assurance system. Our Material Department examine teas for color and aroma…etc. Our Quality Control Department conduct micro biological and physicochemical testing using various facilities and technologies to confirm products’ quality by numerical values.

Testing Processes

To provide reliable products to our customers, strict testing and analyses are conducted with the following processes.  

In-house Laboratory Analysis

Pesticide Residue Analysis
The pesticide residue analysis are conducted using GC-MS (Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry) for 267 kinds of pesticides which are commonly used at tea gardens and coffee plantations.

Micro Biological Testing

Aerobic plate count and coliforms analyses are conducted during inspection for both raw materials and finished products. Japan Food Safety Regulations sets a standard for each variety of food product and prohibits the sale of nonconforming products. For powdered soft drinks, the standard sets “Aerobic plate count: less than 3000/g” and “Coliforms: Negative”. Every powdered soft drink produced in our factory go through an inspection conducted by our QC Department.

Component Analysis

Tea contains various components, such as Catechin, Caffeine, Theanine...etc. Since these components have an effect on the taste of tea, component analyses results help to predict the amount of Umami, bitterness and astringency in tea. Checking particle size, color and moisture are also useful to determine the quality of Matcha or other products.
